In 1956, the Virgin Island National Park and Caneel Bay Resort opened simultaneously, thanks to Laurance S. Rockefeller who took a decisive initiative of forming these two entities to preserve the natural scenic beauty of St. John, Virgin Islands.

Following Irma and Maria hurricanes in Sept. 2017, the Caneel Bay and St. John were badly devastated, and reopening the resort immediately was almost impossible. Since then both Federal and local authorities have been working to address all the issues involved to rebuild the Caneel Bay resort, which is crucial to both the employment of the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands and the overall economic health of the Islands.

This agreement to work toward restoration is good for St. John because:

• Caneel Bay Resort brings jobs to the island and helps the local population.
• Caneel Bay Resort attracts visitors and tourism and helps the economy.

“We are gratified by this significant step and the positive progress toward rebuilding Caneel Bay, helping return St. John to a world-class destination, and the important economic engine this will provide to St. John,” said Gary Engle, President of EHI. “We share the National Park Service’s commitment to rebuilding Caneel Bay in a manner that protects and preserves the island’s natural and cultural resources.”

Florida is a destination known for two things: shopping and theme parks. But in fact, it is MUCH more than that! Imagine the beaches of a place so close to the Caribbean (just 150 km from Cuba or the Bahamas) … Or a typical road trip, going through wonderful landscapes and a beer and wine tour … And there’s more: fabulous natural parks and super interesting museums!

St Pete & Clearwater

Paradisiacal beaches, an average of 361 sunny days a year and cultural, recreational and gastronomic attractions as far as the eye can see.

The region is well known for its white sands and calm waters, and has the beach considered one of the most beautiful in the United States (St Pete Beach). The beaches Belleair Shore and Clearwater Beach are also a must.

Both cities are located on the peninsula that separates Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 400km from Fort Lauderdale.

I suggest renting a car in Fort Lauderdale and crossing the state from east to west to St. Pete. It’s a great trip!

If the 56km of beaches for all tastes that connect St. Pete to Clearwater were not enough, in the region you can also visit the Dalí Museum, which has the largest collection of Salvador Dalí, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (where the film “Winter, the Dolphin” was recorded) and John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk , a leisure and entertainment area, from where it is often possible to see dolphins in the sea. Koh Phi Phi Islands

Koh Phi Phi is ranked among Thailand’s most popular resorts. The soft sand, crystal clear blue waters, and breathtaking vistas are some of the main things that make it stand out. The majority of foreign tourists visiting the country stay at Koh Phi Phi. There are so many fun and relaxing activities one can perform there. You will come across elephants strolling near rivers, plenty of tropical creatures, exotic birds, and monkeys that call this park home. The park is also home to numerous waterfalls, including a 150 meters tall Haew Narok.

A resident of Bandra, Mumbai who wishes to remain anonymous claims to have spotted the former liquor baron Vijay Mallya in the Maximum City. “It was around 4:30 PM on Monday. I had just gone for a walk on Carter Road and I saw someone dressed extremely nicely walking down one of the lanes. I wouldn’t have thought anything of it, but then I noticed he was looking around a lot and thought that was odd. I tried to snap a photo with my phone but it was right before he hopped into a black SUV”.

These stencils were thought to be a promotion in connection with the “Bad Boy Billionaires” series created for Netflix, but after reaching out to the production company, they have said it was unrelated. No one has come forth as yet to take responsibility. 

So what is this sudden appearance of #Mallya? Is it a campaign to get himself back on the good side of the public? Is he here meeting with the government? Only time wiil tell.
